Ulva Ferry
as its name suggests, is where you catch the small ferry over to the Isle of Ulva. It is also the place to catch several boat trips to the isles of Treshnish and Staffa. with Turus Mara
One other very unique boat trip goes out into Loch Na Keal to look at wildlife and in particular, the White Tailed Sea Eagle The owner has almost trained the eagles to come to the boat, where he throws fish into the water for them to pick up. Some amazing photographs can be captured during these sessions.
The village itself has been the centre of some development in recent years. The Community Trust has raised money to help build high quality 'affordable housing' to attract young families with children to move into the area. This has kept the small village school alive and produced housing for workers on the fish farms and agriculture.
Additionally, the marine facility has been developed to attract yachtsmen to call in and lay alongside the new pontoons. (A 360 image of the pontoons is below). The pontoons have power, water and internet.
The final development has been the motorhome and car parking area, Motorhomes can now book to stay overnight with power and services. The space is limited to about 5 units of a medium size, but booking is essential. The notice board is below stating the charges and contact details.
