Accommodation on the island are generally of a good standard and are plentiful; however, during the school holiday periods in July and August it is recommended to book well in advance. There are a large selection of self-catering holiday cottages, a few hotels, some lovely bed and breakfasts, where you will experience the true island hospitality, and some very scenic camping sites.

The only hotels and accommodation that can take large groups are the Western Isles Hotel in Tobermory and the Isle of Mull Hotel in Craignure.
If you do have a large group, or, you are wishing to book accommodation for a large event like the Highland games of car rally, then early booking is essential.
In recent years, other types of accommodation have become available, like Glamping. Glamping is stying in places that are not quite camping and not quite self catering. An example would be the shepherds huts at Tobermory Campsite
Motorhome visits have become very popular, although, as in many other islands, facilities have not kept up with demand. There are no public disposal points for waste water and toilets, so campsites are the main places to drop off waste. Please don't be tempted to dispose of waste in other areas.
Finally, accommodation on Mull is much improved in recent years, but please don't accept and poor standards. If there is a fault, then please report it to the manager or owner. Enjoy your stay, you deserve it.
